UPDATE to WILBA Basketball Operations 2019/2020
Hello WILBA Family,
We hope that you are all staying safe and healthy.
As you know, we had to postpone all our basketball operations as of March 12th and have been in a “pause” mode ever since.
Unfortunately, I must bring you the sad news that we have taken this unprecedented decision to cancel the rest of the 2019/2020 House League season. We must abide by the Provincial and municipal government’s regulations.

Other events that unfortunately must also be cancelled are our year end Intercity awards banquet, our Volunteer dinner and in conjunction with the City of Beaconsfield, the 3 x 3 tournament.
Moving forward, I do want to announce that we have opened the registration of our day camp, and we are planning our Summer elite program, in preparation that as soon as any restrictions are lifted, we can resume normal basketball operations, as soon as possible.
Until we get back to normalcy, we would like to announce the WILBA Summer Challenge. To keep our players in a basketball frame of mind, with the help of our Technical Director, Mr. Mike Hickey, we will be posting on our web site (www.WILBA.net), different basketball activities, on a weekly schedule. We encourage our players to capture themselves on video doing these different activities, and posting them on Twitter, or Facebook using the hash tag #WILBASummerChallenge. On Twitter, our handle is @WILBABasketball, and on Facebook, go and “Like” West Island Lakers Basketball Association. Please no video’s more than 60 seconds in length.
To close out the season officially, we will be having our annual AGM on June 10th, 2020 and are planning to have it held virtually. To be granted access, please RSVP to secretary@wilba.net by May 31st, 2020. We are always looking for volunteers, and next season is no different. We are looking for volunteer Coaches, Division Managers, a Director of Volunteers, Treasurer, Director of fundraising, Registrar and many other activities that need your time. If you are interested in any of these positions, or looking to help us in any capacity, please email president@wilba.net, and I would be happy to give you more information.
